chords:
- double stops are partial chords made of two notes
- shell chords are partial chords that contain the notes 1, 3 ,7
- the third and seventh could be flattened, depending if it's major, minor or dominant.

intervalos:
2026-05-31: hoy creo que entendi practicamente que significa "tocar en/con terceras" (o cuartas)
por ejemplo: si estamos en tonalidad de Mi mayor
significa tocar double stops (1 - 3) - (2-4) - (3-5) (4-6) (5-7) y (6-1) (7-9) (1-3)
basics
in left hand, the thumb should be opposite to the middle finger, single notes with 4 fingers
rolling finger: for example when playing strings 5 and then 6 on fret 5, you fret the 5th string with tip of index, roll finger down and play te 6th string with the fat part of the finger. Do the exact motion in reverse, Previously I tried fretting the 6th string with my finger tip but this is not good, I should fret it with the fat part (if the lick needs rolling fingers)
nails
guitar nails
something I haven't gotten used in classical guitar is playing with thumb nail. I'm used to playing notes with the side of my thumb, always hitting with flesh. To achieve a clearer sound by hitting with nail I need to angle my thumb /wrist differently, angled more looking towards the soundhole, rather than flat against the string.

warmup drill / do every day
Use metronome and record myself while practicing. Recording myself helps me look and listen to myself from a different perspective and get rid of some of the anxiety that comes from recording.
- araƱa
- escala cromatica, 4 por cuerda. y tambien lo mismo pero skipping strings
-
two notes per string variation: this aligns with what I was last practicing, since I noticed playing notes before finger 1 (index) were not so precise and fast and made my pink or anular separate too much from the fretboard.
para mantener la muƱeca derecha cuando se esta tocando en cuerda 5 y 6, recuerda soltar y bajar el hombro. Puedo jugar con la posicion del hombro para mantener la muƱeca derecha.
when learning a piece play a section at least 5 times without errors to move on to the next one.
techniques
improvising
learning scales https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWRNfUBRM-U
- practice scales randomly, instead of going up and down the scale position, play the notes in a random order and see what comes up.
- next lvl is to choose 2 scale positions and play notes from both positions. Eventually, the goal is to use the entire fret board
Muting
- muting inside chords: for example in the G open chord you angle the middle finger down to mute the A string.
- muting open chords
- left hand exercise
- muting unwanted notes when playing lead
- electric lead playing is monophonic. High-speed electric players rarely rely on only the fretting hand. Muting is divided between both hands. lower thicker strings are muted by the picking hand and higher thinner strings are muted by the underside of the fretting finger (usually index).
- classical guitar is polyphonic, letting strings ring into each other. you curve the fingers 90 degrees to not accidently touch adjecent strings. Muting in classical is an expressive choice used to control note duration, separate counterpoint lines or stop bass overhand. techniques include left hand release (apagado), right hand palm / side of thumb damping and right hand thumb/finger planting (apoyando / rest stroke & damping, picado)
Mancuso 3 finger picado
Matteo Mancuso technique
Matteo Mancuso has a 3 finger picado technique I practiced for a little while.
bending
I'm having troubles with constantly breaking my high e string.
I should be able to bend from 10 to 12
lock in tuners too tight?
is gauge 9 too thick?
excessive down pressure on the frets when bending?
tremolo
- tremolo, thumb positioning, picadobuenisimo
alzapua
thumb up and down
- ancla: index touching or very close to touching the 6th string
- movement with wrist, sorta like strumming. not completely from base of thumb
