its great that Siddhartha is learning and having fun and found friendship with Kamala.

but Kamalas basically stating that she just wants money and gifts kind of upsets me. To give her some credit she was also intrigued by Siddhartha and his poetry.

It is good that she stated her intentions from the get go tho.

If I was in his shoes I would have discarded her as a gold digger and never been friends with her.

but Siddhartha didn't seem to care (which fits into his free of desires,jugments... persona). Even went as far as turning into a merchant and living with the rich merchant just to get money for her.

did he do it out of lust/desperation or out of curiosity? Does Kamala being beautiful make her worthy for Siddhartha to do so much

beauty is weird. kamala being beautiful (something she technically didn't work for) make her so valuable to men. I am surprised an "enlightened" person such as Siddhartha also thinks this way. or at least behaves as such.

Also if you think about money as not just a material possession but as a representation of your work/the value you provide to others, paying for love seems to be less x (cant find the word rn), at least a little bit. The soul of money
